Most people find it difficulty to maintain their wig, some don't maintain it at all which makes it loose it's texture and quality. You can't talk about maintaining your wig without knowing it's texture and quality because different texture of wigs goes with different treatment.
There are various types of wig textures but I will talk about the most common with their various treatment;
1. Straight: it is the easiest unprocessed hair texture. It is one of the easiest to maintain just a wide tooth comb is required to avoid tangle you can apply a little water then hot comb.
2. Curl: This can either be deep or Jerry curl but whichever it is necessary to deep condition then brush when wet, loosen knot with fingers then avoid brushing more than twice a day to avoid shed.
3.kinky: it is known to be coarse and easily tangled looks like an African American hair can either be in form of straight, wavy or curly kinky and can be treated by hot curly or flat straightened.
4. Wave: This is one of the most difficult to maintain alot of people complain about wavy wigs and how difficult for it to be maintained. There are different types of waves like body wave, ocean waves, deep waves and natural wave they all can be maintained by first not combing when wet, apply shampoo then condition you can use rollers when necessary.
It is important to know about your wigs texture and quality to avoid demage of your wig.
