This particular fashion trend is among the resurrected fashion trend which is made up  calico and denim. It was first mentioned in the 17th century and was referred to as cheap, coarse and thick cotton cloth often colored blue and some times white.

Back then it was worn by impoverished people, In what was then a region of Bombay India a dockside villa called Dangri. It was exploited to England and was used for manufacturing of cheap robust working clothes and they started calling it Dungri. This cloth lasts longer because it hardly tears, it was used by sailors and also be used the same way as jean clothing.

People mostly compare it to denim but both have their differences. Denim is woven from uncolored yarn and only color after wearing but Dungaree is made from pre colored  yarn. It is important to know that this Dungaree can be tight or loose fitting stoned washed and deep indigo. It can also be worn by male and females whether a long or a short dungaree as far as is worn in a fashionable way.
